Alison Bode is a local graduate of California Holistic Institute where she earned her title of State Certified Massage Therapist. In addition earning her State Certification, she is also Certified Orthopedic Massage Therapist and holds a bachelor's in Philosophy from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Since completing her initial massage training, she has trained at Esalen Institute, The Academy of Clinical Massage and The Institute of Integrative Oncology Massage.

After receiving her bachelor's, she decided to pursue her passion of helping people live healthier lives. She has a deep passion for and dedication to health and wellness.  Over time, Alison has come to understand the body as a system that works best when in balance, seeing that every person is a unique individual who requiring a different approach. She combines her years of experience of healthy lifestyles with her detailed knowledge of massage and anatomy to create an individualized approach for each person.

She is one of the few therapists in the county trained in Oncology Massage. This allows her to make adaptations to massage techniques to make massage safe for those currently in treatment or with a history of treatment.

Her combination of traditional Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and orthopedic massage will help your body feel and work at its optimum level. Stretching is a vital component of your health. Many of us lead busy lives, yet we rarely take our bodies through their full range of motion. A decrease in range of motion often leads to pain and injuries. A consistent stretching program can allow you to significantly improve your range of motion, flexibility and stress levels. You will find your daily activities easier to do, and you have more energy to do them.


How Stretching Reduces Stress

The stretches and simple breathing techniques that you will learn in this class are designed to help your body rest and recover by lowering blood pressure and heart rate, which counteracts the effect of our stress-inducing lifestyles. Stretching not only has the effect of releasing tight muscles and reducing pain, but also relaxes the body and decreases stress and its effects.


What To Expect

Our class will run one hour, with 15 minutes following if you have questions for the instructor. This class is designed for all ability levels, and will include simple stretches and stress-reducing breathing techniques. Class size is limited to ensure that each person in the class gets personal attention for their body’s needs.
